Like hushed whispers, snowflakes drift.
Among my dreams, this Christmas wish…
Memories of a Christmas season,
filled with yuletide glee.
Colored lights and tinsel circled ‘round our tree.
Ornaments made by childhood hands,
crafted stars twinkling above.
Without an abundance of material things,
there was always room for love.
Love for the gathering of family and friends,
love for the season of giving.
Love for the simple life,
grateful to be among the living.
Paper angels by the manger,
placed carefully beneath the tree.
Wise men bearing gifts,
brings Christmas home to me.
Christmas pageants, candy canes,
glad tidings, holiday cheer.
Gifts of daily blessings to all who gather near.
Sledding, skating, building snowmen,
sing out a Christmas chorus.
Sipping hot cocoa with marshmallows,
made with love, especially for us.
Mistletoe hung above the doorway,
a stolen secret kiss.
Enchanting images of Christmas past that I truly miss.
Knitted scarves and mittens,
bundled up against the cold.
Memories for the ages,
worth their weight in gold.
Wonderful memories
